Nam Tan cave is about 1,000 meters long and has many stalactites and an underground river flowing through it. It is one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Giang and has potential for developing eco-tourism, exploration, and adventure.

Tham Lom cave is located in Viet Quang town, about 3km from the center of Bac Quang district. The cave is about 400m long, with many stalactites and underground aquatic systems. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Ha Giang, attracting many domestic and international visitors.

The purpose of the survey was to assess the potential for tourism development and preservation of cultural, historical, and geological heritage sites in Ha Giang. In addition to the survey, VITIT and the Department of Culture of Bac Quang district also plan to implement some activities to develop tourism at these two caves, including building lighting and suspension bridge systems to help visitors explore the caves safely and conveniently, organizing educational programs about the cultural, historical, and geological heritage of Ha Giang for tourists, bringing local tourism products into management and development to enhance economic value for the local community, and promoting and marketing to attract tourists to visit the caves and the Ha Giang region in general.

In addition, tourism development at these two caves also needs to be carried out in an environmentally friendly and heritage-conserving way. Therefore, VITIT and the Department of Culture of Bac Quang district have proposed some environmental protection measures, such as reducing the impact of tourism on natural environments, strengthening monitoring and managing geological and ecological resources of the caves and the surrounding areas.
The development of tourism at Nam Tan and Tham Lom caves also brings economic benefits to the Ha Giang region, including creating jobs for the local people, reducing poverty and improving the living standards of the community, increasing revenue for tourism businesses and related services such as restaurants, hotels, transportation, and handicrafts. It also contributes to the development of the local economy, raising the income of local people and contributing to the local budget. It also strengthens economic and cultural relations between regions, promoting global economic development.

However, the development of tourism at these two caves also requires the agreement and cooperation of relevant parties, including local authorities, conservation agencies and resource management, local communities, and tourism businesses. This ensures that tourism development is carried out sustainably while protecting and preserving the geological, ecological, and cultural heritage of the Ha Giang region.
